Berkely Arrants is the President and Founder of Horizon Advisory Group, LLC, a Houston based personal and business financial planning firm. Her passion for helping people, and her expertise in taking complex situations and making them simple, led her to become a financial planner.

Berkely grew up in London, UK, and returned to the United States at 18 for college. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Psychology. While at Penn, she was the Co-Captain of the Varsity Women’s Crew team. After a couple of years working in marketing, she returned to an old passion and began working in the entertainment industry as an actor and producer. In 2000, after the birth of her children, Berkely made the change to financial planning.

Berkely holds the designations of Certified Financial Planner®, Certified Investment Management Analyst®, Certified Retirement Planning Counselor®, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™, Certified Financial Educator® and Certified Family Business Specialist. She also holds the FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 Securities licenses, as well as Group 1 Life and Health and Variable Insurance licenses. It is extremely important to Berkely that her clients are informed about the important decisions they need to make regarding their future and the future of those who depend upon them. With that in mind, she works hard to educate her clients so that they have the confidence to move forward with plans that fit their specific situation: no question is too small.

Berkely has two areas of focus: closely held and family business planning and consulting, and personal financial planning. Within the area of business planning, she addresses issues and concerns such as transition planning (whether unintentional or intentional), employee retention, executive benefits, retirement planning for the owner, business valuation, and estate planning. Business exit planning allows for the creation and execution of a strategy that enables owners to exit their business on their own terms and conditions, using an established and systemized process.

On the personal financial side, through the use of comprehensive financial planning, Berkely helps her clients establish and refine their goals by listening carefully to what is important to them now and in the future. She then designs a strategic, personalized path towards accomplishing their unique objectives.

She specializes in working with people who are going through transitions or life changes: life cycle of a business, marriage, birth of a child, job change, retirement, death of a spouse, and divorce. She is also an expert in retirement income planning.

Berkely has been involved in a number of Boards over the years including Volunteers in Medicine, the First Presbyterian Day School, The Houston Children’s Chorus, The University of Pennsylvania Alumni Club of Houston, and she was an Elder at First Presbyterian Church in Hilton Head.

Outside of work, Berkely is devoted to her family and her community. She has been married to Wayne for 23 years and has two teenaged children Tucker and Devin. She practices yoga regularly and loves to travel and spend time outdoors.
