Lenox Wealth Advisors’ Richard Van Benschoten Named Officer of New Financial Security Association  

Van Benschoten, of Lenox Wealth Advisors, will serve as secretary-elect of the new organization created by AALU and GAMA International to unify the financial security profession; approved this month

WASHINGTON — AALU, the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting, and GAMA International announced today that Richard Van Benschoten, CEO of Lenox Wealth Advisors, will serve as secretary-elect of their inaugural Board of Directors. Van Benschoten joins the Board as the two groups form a new organization.

“Rick has been integral throughout this transitional period – serving on our joint task force and on AALU’s Board,” said Marc Cadin, president and CEO of AALU and CEO of the new organization. “His advice and counsel, as well as his commitment to this profession, make him an excellent member of our new Board. We need to redefine the future of the financial security profession, and Rick is the leader to guide us in accomplishing this mission.”

Van Benschoten founded Lenox Wealth Advisors, based in New York, NY, in 1999, and has grown the company to unprecedented levels serving as CEO. He previously served on the executive committee of AALU’s Board of Directors and officially assumed the role of the new organization’s secretary-elect on Feb. 18, 2020.

AALU and GAMA International announced they will be joining to create a new organization on July 29, 2019. The new organization will be the first of its kind in the industry by bringing together advocacy, leadership and professional development, and seeking to elevate the profession. Together, the new organization will work to unify 345,000 financial security professionals. On Feb. 14, stakeholders officially approved the creation of the new organization and the new Board with an astounding 98 percent approval. The full list of officers and Directors can be found here.
