Guidelines for Submitting Content for the
AALU Quarterly

What is the AALU Quarterly
The AALU Quarterly is the official magazine of the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting. The articles are written by and for the top one-percent of life insurance professionals and other experts serving the advanced marketplace. Each issue is committed to helping AALU members become more credible advisors for their clients.

What are typical article topics?
We are looking for high level content for our membership, advanced producers who concentrate in business insurance, estate planning, nonqualified plans, qualified plans and charitable planning.  We also welcome articles on business and technology best practices, market trends and other topics that will be resourceful to the top 1%.

What is the typical length of an article?
Most of our articles run about 1,000 to 1,500 words but our philosophy is to not cut content if it shortcuts a concept or technique. AALU members expect and demand the full story! Also, if you have graphs or charts, they are easily incorporated into the article. The best thing is too just include the original data (Excel file) when you submit your article and our designer will layout in accordance with the style of our magazine.

What if I’d like to contribute, but I don’t have time to write?
AALU staff can assist any would be contributor who is too busy to write. Depending on the length and breadth of your topic, contact AALU and we can arrange for a phone interview with our staff. After we conduct a Q&A, staff will draft an article and send it back to you for review before publishing.

What is the timeline for submitting articles and when will they be published?
