IMPACT, AALU's landmark political training seminar, is held three times a year. AALU members, along with industry partners, discuss and debate the political challenges that face the life insurance industry, and how important it is for every AALU member to be involved. Attendees will be reimbursed for travel and hotel costs.

There are various ways new members of AALU can get involved in the association. AALU offer members a number of committee positions that play an important role in defining AALU's police and strategic plan. IMPACT is the first step for members to contribute in the process.  

IMPACT offers a unique opportunity for AALU members not only to learn more about the inner workings of AALU, but it gives current AALU members and staff the opportunity to meet and get to know each and every member. Members often comment that IMPACT is a great opportunity to meet fellow AALU members, as well as interact with AALU’s staff and counsel in a much smaller and focused venue than the Annual Meeting. Approximately 25-30 AALU members attend each of AALU Fall and Regional IMPACT, with about 100-150 members in attendance during the Annual Meeting session.

AALU Leaders of Tomorrow
The AALU President, Board of Directors, and Committee Chairs of tomorrow are the IMPACT partcipants of today. Every member of the Board of Directors has been a participant in an IMPACT meeting, and for many of them, IMPACT was the first AALU experience.

IMPACT Participants Check List
1.   Sign up for IMPACT by contacting Brendan Gleason at gleason@aalu.org or (703) 641-8121.
2.   It is important that you make travel arrangements as soon as possible and inform AALU once the arrangements are confirmed (flight, train, etc). AALU will reimburse IMPACT attendants travel expense to and from  IMPACT. All receipts must be submitted to gleason@aalu.org
3.   Two weeks prior to the meeting, each participate will receive a confirmation email with important information such as final agenda. If you do not receive a confirmation, please contact Brendan Gleason at (703) 641-8121 immediately.
