Description
AALU members depend on the Washington Report (published approximately 120 times a year) to keep
them posted on important legislative and regulatory issues. But frequently, it is AALU members who surface
issues and find creative ways to resolve them. When an issue arises, a committee conference call or
meeting is arranged almost immediately. The committee sizes up the situation, assesses the degree of risk,
and recommends policy and solutions to the AALU Board. Most issues require continuous monitoring and
frequent reevaluation of strategy. The committees work with AALU counsel and staff to resolve issues.
