AALU's Political Programs - Because Politics IS Your Business! 

A politically involved membership is key to AALU’s mission to protect the business environment of agents in the advanced markets. AALU’s political programs are designed to assist members in their efforts to learn more about the world of politics and get involved in the political process.

The Capitol Hill Club facilitates meetings between AALU members and their legislators during AALU’s Annual Meeting held in Washington, DC every Spring. In 2009, AALU members met with over 300 Congressional offices discussing the importance of estate tax, tax reform and COLI Best Practices.

IMPACT is AALU’s primary political education program. Developed with the political novice in mind, IMPACT teaches members everything they need to know to start building relationships with their legislators. IMPACT also assists the more seasoned political enthusiast with additional ways to improve Congressional relationships.

The Legislative Circle Program is our unique fundraising program that allows members to support key legislators in Congress who are helping to protect the important work of our industry from adverse legislation.Whether it is to qualify for the Legislative Circle Program or simply to support our advocacy work in Washington, DC, your contribution to  

AALU PAC will take AALU's efforts to the next level.

Many AALU members, due to being active in community life, have developed relationships with their legislators in Washington. These members are known as Key Contacts. AALU has a strong and vibrant Key Contact program that ensures our membership is prepared to provide reliable information in important public policy issues such as the tax treatment of the death benefit and inside build-up.
